Adam Hatefi is the Chief Strategic Officer of the Citizen Advocates Network, where he leads the organization's academic and whitepaper writing agenda. He is a law and policy expert specializing in statutory construction and regulatory implementation, with extensive experience advocating before state legislatures and utility commissions. In his work in the energy sector, he has participated in ratemaking proceedings at the California Public Utilities Commission, as well as planning proceedings in CA, WA, NY, and NJ. Adam helped found a large ratepayer coalition representing major institutions across healthcare, technology, research, and education sectors, and has advocated for grid reliability standards and distributed energy programs in California. He holds a Juris Doctor from the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, and a Bachelor of Arts with majors in Political Science and Science and Technology Studies from the University of California, Davis.
